Scriptural Reference:
1 Peter 4:10-11 10 Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 11 Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 23:11 11 The greatest among you will be your servant.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Divine 9 Service Ministry is to engage members of The Temple Church, who are members of one of the Divine 9, to continue the legacy of their organizations through service in ministry. The ministry serves as an auxiliary outreach ministry that organizes and facilitates community service activities for Temple members to engage and participate in throughout the calendar year.
Vision:
The vision of the Divine 9 Service Ministry is to be a ministry that carries out Christ's example of true servanthood to the less fortunate, down trodden, and dis-enfranchised.
Objectives:
1. Promote active participation in existing Temple Church Community Service projects that need hands and feet to carry out service needs.
2. Provide and present a physical presence of the church by serving the various needs of the community in non-church environments.
3. Design and facilitate different and new community service projects, that are in alignment with Temple’s community vision, engaging Temple members in cooperative community service efforts.
